Is Quality Time your Love Language?

Before you commit to purchasing an Australian Labradoodle, familiarize yourself with their love language...Quality Time.

Australian Labradoodles are specifically bred as companion pets. What is a Companion pet? A companion pet is any breed of pet, a dog in this case, that has been bred for the sole purpose of being a companion animal. They are known for their affectionate nature, gentle demeanor, and their desire to be with their owners as much as possible. Although the Australian Labradoodle has had its origins as a service dog and there are currently many ALDs who do work as service dogs in therapeutic settings, today the loving breed is mainly sought out as a family companion especially for those who suffer from allergies or prefer its non-shedding/hypoallergenic qualities.

Since the Australian Labradoodle is a companion pet, they desire quality time with their families! Quality time IS the ultimate expression of love for Australian Labradoodles. Unlike other dogs, they are not bred for specific tasks or jobs, such as hunting or herding. Instead, they are bred solely to be with humans, and as a result, they thrive on human interaction and attention. We have found in our experience, that since ALDs have a laid back and chill temperament, they are not prone to anxiety as some other companion breeds and since they have a versatile disposition they enjoy a variety of actives as long as you are present with them!

Australian Labradoodles are happiest when they are spending time with their owners and their families. Whether it's snuggling up on the couch for a movie night, going for a walk in the park, or just hanging out in the backyard, ALDs love being by your side.

Quality time is also important for your dog's mental and emotional health. Spending time with your dog can reduce stress and anxiety, boost their mood (and yours), and improve their overall well-being. It's a win-win situation for both you and your furry friend.

How to Spend Quality Time with Your Companion Dog

There are many ways to spend quality time with your companion dog. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  1. Go for a Walk: Walking is not only great exercise for you and your dog, but it's also a great bonding activity. Use this time to explore new areas, sniff out new scents, and enjoy each other's company.

  2. Teach Them a New Trick: Training your dog is not only a great way to bond with them, but it also provides mental stimulation and can improve their behavior. Teach them a new trick, such as "sit" or "stay," or enroll them in a training class.

  3. Have a Playdate: Dogs are social animals and enjoy the company of other dogs. Arrange a playdate with a friend's dog or take them to a dog park to socialize with other dogs.

  4. Snuggle Up: Companion dogs love nothing more than snuggling up with their owners. Spend some quality time on the couch with your furry friend, watch a movie, or read a book together.

  5. Take Them on an Adventure: Dogs love new experiences and adventures. Take your companion dog on a road trip, a camping trip, or a day trip to the beach. Just remember to pack plenty of treats and water for them.

Companion dogs are special animals that have been bred solely for the purpose of being with humans. For them, quality time is the ultimate expression of love. Remember, that if you would like to bring home an Australian Labradoodle that he or she will want to spend quality time with you and your family. Spending time with them will not only will it make them happy, but it will also strengthen your bond and improve their overall well-being.
